Hawtof; loving brother of Joyce S. Hawtof, Ivan Hawtof and the late William Hawtof; dear cousin of Dr. Steve Millison and Dr. Skipper Millison; also survived by other loving family and friends.
Funeral services and interment will be held at
Maryland Veterans Cemetery - Garrison Forest Road. Funeral details are not yet determined. Please check sollevinson.com for updated information. Family and friends to meet 45 minutes prior to the service at SOL LEVINSON & BROS., INC., 8900 Reisterstown Road. Please omit flowers. In mourning at 4010 Pinkney Rd, Baltimore, MD 21215, through Monday morning.

What a very special person Joel Hawtof. I met him in the 70's in Fells Point and he was a joy to know! He loved art and music and was a great dancer. He lived the Bohemian life in the very best way. His enthusiasm was infectious and I always enjoyed his photography exhibits every year at the Dead End. We showed our work together at the Big Show at the Creative Alliance and shared many good times together. I will miss Joel.

My condolences are extended to the Hawtof Family. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Hawtof at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. He was a GENTLE GIANT!!!

I am saddened to hear of Joel's passing and wish to express my deepest regrets. I worked with Joel at WMATA over the years and considered him not just one of the best people I've ever worked with, but also considered him a friend. He will be missed and may the love of friends and family carry you through this difficult time.
