It was amazing to watch Mr. Baker coach the Lacrosse team at Lake. He loved those guys as much as he loved the game. My condolences to the family. Coach Baker will be missed.

I am at a loss for words right now....Mr. Baker was the best Lacrosse coach there was in Baltimore City, he truly loved the game and the youngsters that he coached. While at Lake Clifton I had the privilege of being the Manager of the Lacrosse team as well as the Basketball team. Mr. Baker will truly be missed.

John
From the time I meet you in the Faculty room at Lake Clifton, I admired your knowledge and skill as a teacher.
As I had always followed hs sports, I realized we had something else in common. When you began to coach I realized what a great coach you truly were. I was honored when you asked me to become your football, and later basketball statististian.
Over the years you became my best friend and the brother I never had.
You will never know how much I miss you.
Condolences to all the members of the Baker family as we face this devastating loss of a truly remarkable person.

We (Chuck, Doug, John W. and Walt) all grew up with John.
We were friends with John before we were teenagers. I was the “short” one and John was the “tall” one in our group.
We played ball constantly. We sure had some great times!
There is now sadness because one of my earliest friends has passed on.
My life was made better by knowing John.
My deepest condolences to Mary, Lyn and the rest of the Baker Family,
Wayne Bertholdt

Mr. Baker was a great man. He was a mentor, friend and protector. He helped many of us survive in a sometimes hostile environment. He will be truly missed. God speed.

I coached lacrosse against John for many years while he was Head Coach at Lake Clifton and Chesapeake-BC. I don't believe their is an individual out there that loved the game of lacrosse more than John. John was a great ambassador for the sport in areas where kids did not receive much exposure or credit. He taught his players passion for the game, integrity and sportsmanship. He also had some terrific teams that he built from nothing. The last team he coached in 2009 at Chesapeake was simply terrific, and could play with any public school team in the State. I'm really going to miss seeing John next to me on the sidelines. He was a Gentleman, and his memory will live on in the multitude of student-athletes he positively influenced in his long career as a Teacher and Coach. I'm proud to call him a Friend. He will be missed.
