John Turnbull Obituary

John Grason Turnbull died peacefully in Baltimore, Maryland on September 25, 2025. Born to Henry and Ruth Turnbull in Bronxville, New York, John graduated from St. Paul's School for Boys in Baltimore County and from Washington and Jefferson College and later earned an M.B.A. from Pace University in New York. He lived in Queens, New York, where he worked as a credit manager for the Bulova Corporation. For 32 years, John was married to Silvia Garcia, who had fled Castro's Cuba as a young woman and died in 2015. John is survived by his son from his first marriage, Kenneth Y. Turnbull, of Washington, DC, his daughter-in-law Leslie Spiegel, two granddaughters, his half-sister Virginia, and his first wife, Ann McKenrick Turnbull. John was an avid amateur genealogist who self-published a history of the Turnbull family of Maryland a few years before his death. Family and friends are welcome to the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home (Beltway exit 26) on Tuesday, October 7 from 9:30-10:00 AM with a service to start at 10:00 AM.
