Julia Ledford Obituary

Julia Snodgrass Ledford, beloved daughter of Hubert L. Snodgrass, Jr. and the late Donna Channell Snodgrass, passed peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on February 14, 2021. She was 57 years old. She is survived by her sister, Lisa Scott Snodgrass, of New York; three daughters, Sydney Lucky of Street, MD, Sarah Meissner of Baldwin, MD, and Emily Ledford Jones of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving are grandsons Aaron, Ian, Graham, Caleb, and Levi, in addition to long-time companion David Giroux.

Adored by both patients and colleagues, Julia had a fulfilling career as a registered nurse for over twenty years at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. She loved birdwatching, vacationing in Chincoteague, VA, and spending time with her family. Above all, she treasured her role as Nana, sharing her gifts of cooking, crafting, and music appreciation with her grandsons. She was never without a song in her heart and connected deeply with others wherever she went. Her loving, kind, and gentle spirit touched so many and her earthly presence will be missed.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring. Contributions can be made in her memory to The Children's Education Fund at Ladew Gardens.

Rest in peace Jules. I remember I was always happy when we shared patients at UCMC because I so liked working with you. I was proud that you said we were like kindred spirits and old souls. The orange dragonfly suncatcher you gave me is the only tangible part of the memories and I will treasure it. My heart is sad for your family's hurt and just the absence of your spirit. I treasure the fact that we were in each other's lives for a little bit of time.
Until we meet again.

Prayers to her family. We didn't always see each other but with our passings through school and life, she held a special place in my heart. And when we did meet, we just picked right back up. Love you Jules
