Lorraine Rubenstein

Lorraine "Lorrie" Rubenstein (nee Bard), of Warrenton, VA, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 86. She is survived by her loving children, Julie Huber, Maureen Noble and Gary Rubenstein; and grandchildren Connor Noble and Jenna Noble. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard A. Rubenstein; devoted son, Craig Stewart Rubenstein; and dear parents, Rose Bard Bass and Jesse Bard.

"Lorrie" Rubenstein Educator Cultural Anthropologist taught Cultural Anthropology at Maryland Institute College of Art for over 35 years, Towson State, Goucher College to name a few. She held courses and seminars on Cults, Grief and Dying and other Cultural Political Topics, including specializing in Dying with Dignity for the Baltimore Chapter of Compassion and Choices.

Lorrie was dedicated to teaching others, not only in the University classrooms, but also in the home, she welcomed every opportunity to connect and share her love of life and knowledge with others.

Lorrie was a "free spirit". Very much an anthropologist, she inspired generations of students to be creative, believe in themselves, and find their joy in life. Lorrie participated in the Lakota Teaching Way with her students and her children.

A true Baltimorian, Lorrie cherished her city of Baltimore, a visionary and contributor of the Arts, Music and Film Culture.
