It was Sister Louis Mary's 44 years of vision, determination and love for her fellow man that made Stella Maris what it is today. Stella is the house that Louis built. She will be missed by those of us who knew and worked with her.

Louis was a string, vibrant, faith-filled, and strong willed woman....she was an advocate for the dying and people with less. She believed in gathering friends often for prayer and fun. You will be missed.. but your legacy lives in the people, programs and missions you touched.

What Sister Louis Mary has given to the residents, past and present,at St. Elizabeth Hall is too great to be measured in this world. But she carries a perfect report card to her new domicile.

Jesus humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even to death on a cross. Therefore God has exalted him (Phil 2:8-9)

My prayer and sympathy to the family and Sisters of Mercy on the entrance of S. Louis Mary Battle into eternal life. Sister hired my mother, Helen Haag, at Stella Maris Hospice in 1962. Mom spoke very highly of S. Louis Mary and the ministry to the elderly.
