I did not know Marc, but I have worked professionally with Leonor over the years, and wish to offer personal deepest sympathies for her and her family's loss. I also extend condolences on behalf of Esperanza Center - Catholic Charities, with whom Leonor worked for several years.

Marc was a very special person and I am so grateful to have known him. I met Marc about 13 years ago in Vail when I had winter break in college. I loved spending days with him on the hill - skiing The Preserve, Roger's Run, Grand Review or the favorite Lost Boy. And when we took a break he would have snacks for a little picnic, always including a chocolate bar (so since then, I almost always keep chocolate in my pocket when I'm skiing). I was very lucky to get to see him over the years in Vail - mornings with slow cooked bacon and Solen er Oppe's before skiings, enjoyable dinner's with great conversation, and the yearly Vail Christmas Party. He was such a warm and welcoming person and he will be very much missed.

My husband John and I are so deeply sorry to learn of Marc's passing, and send our most sincere condolences to his wonderful wife Leonor and all his family. I had the pleasure and privilege of serving with Marc for many years on the Board and various committees of Notre Dame of Maryland University. He was the most intelligent, interesting and affable colleague, and a trusted advisor. I have been truly blessed to know him and call him my friend. May he rest in peace.
With deepest sympathy,

Marc Blum was a "fixer" - a brilliant lawyer and compassionate wise friend who took delight in helping things be right. Marc had the most fantastic laugh and a passion for diverse friendships, global and hometown interests, skiing, and fostering lively conversations. Impish, Marc was kindness incarnate. May his adored and extraordinary wife, Leonor, be comforted, his children and grandchildren proud, and his siblings -- Jim, Joel, and Claire -- be blessed by the sure knowledge he loved you all so. We are so grateful.

Leonor, Ari, Alex and family, we are heartbroken for your loss. Marc was one of the finest human beings on the planet. He brightened our lives (and indirectly saved our daughter Leah's life after a stroke in Nepal). As you know, Lisa and I met Marc in Vail and were ski buddies for years. Those were happy times! Marc always had a fun filled day planned...breakfast overlooking Vail Valley, solen er oppe's, skiing Vail, apres with Helmut, hot tub to soothe the muscles and always a long dinner with friends and much conversation, stories and anecdotes. Marc always made sure to make each of us feel special and included. He had a talent that way. Marc made friends everywhere he went. The lift line and chairlift were social events for him. He would know everyone's name and history by the time we got to the top. Axel...(Alex the mogul masher), Ari and Leonor, we will carry Marc with us in our hearts on every ski run and every solen er oppe. Skol Marc! We are lucky to have known you. Solen er nede.
