Margaret Foster Obituary

Margaret Coluzzi Foster, 92, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025. Margaret was born on June 19, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland to Angelo Louis Coluzzi and Mary Russo Coluzzi. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1951. Her godfather, Thomas D'Alesandro, Jr., was a mayor of Baltimore and father of former U.S. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. In 1953, Margaret married George Daniel Foster, Jr. (Dan), and together they shared 53 years of marriage until his passing in 2016.

Margaret and Dan loved travelling to places such as Italy, South Africa, Chile, New Zealand and Australia, to name a few. A realtor for many years, Margaret enjoyed guiding people through such an important milestone in their lives. She also enjoyed cooking, especially dishes that reflected her Italian heritage.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Mary, her husband, Dan, and her son, Danny. She is survived by her sister, Lee Coluzzi Adams of Elkridge, MD, daughter, Susan Foster, of Nashville, TN, grandchildren, Kelsey Hoffman of Nashville, TN, and Matthew (Addy) Hoffman of Federal Way, WA, and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Rohan Hoffman and Henry Carl Hoffman.

A memorial service will be held for Margaret at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, Maryland on October 18, 2025, where her remains will be placed next to her husband and son.

I knew Margaret and Dan threw the store that I ran. They were incredibly kind and curious people we´ve had several conversations about history, etc. I wish I knew about the Pelosi connection, but that doesn´t surprise me. She was a good person and I´m glad to have known her.

I worked in the same office, Pat Tholen´s, at Paul Hamilton Co with Margaret in the 1980´s. I remember her with fondness. She was very motherly to all of us. I´m happy to read that she lived a long life. Heartfelt condolences to her family.
