Antoinette LaBonia Obituary

Antoinette Merola LaBonia, 87, of Ridge Rd., North Haven, died Wednesday, (July 17, 2002) at the Hamden Health Care Ctr. Wife of the late Vincent LaBonia, Sr. Born in New Haven on Feb. 4, 1915, daughter of the late Dominic and Mary Monaco Merola. She was a member of the Farms Country Club, the Lego Mar Country Club in Florida and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Mother of Elizabeth A. and Vincent LaBonia, Jr.; sister of Matrona "Em" Carafano, Lucy and George Heath, Guy, Paul and Leonard Merola and the late Blair and Nicholas Merola, Sr.; grandmother of Vincent Ferraiolo, Beth Holland, Denise LaBonia and the late Lenore LaBonia; and great-grandmother of Nile Ann and Mason David Holland. Her Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Saturday morning at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. The visiting hours will be TODAY 4-8 p.m. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Lenore LaBonia Scholarship Fund, c/o Sacred Heart Academy, 265 Benham Hill Rd., Hamden 06518 or the Father McGivney Cancer Research Ctr., 1450 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511.

Aunt Antoinette was loved by her family and friends. She had a warm heart and was a very giving person. She will surely be missed by all of her family.
