Martin Skane Obituary
He was born on November 3, 1939 in Baltimore, MD to the late James B. and Mary E. Nason Skane.
Martin was a 1957 graduate of Towson Catholic High School, 1961 graduate of Loyola College with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, and a 1975 graduate of Frostburg State with a Master's Degree in Management.
He was employed as a Human Resources Director with several companies in the area until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Hagerstown, MD.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus of Hagerstown, MD; Scabbard and Blade; Charger Member of the Cumberland Valley (SHRM) Society for Human Resource Management; member of BPOE#378 in Hagerstown, MD.
Martin was also a past member of Greencastle Sportsman's Association.
He is survived by his wife Katherine L. Skane whom he married on May 6, 1961; daughter Lisa Harrison of Troy, MI; son Martin "Dan" Skane of Mechanicsville, MD; sister Regina Skane of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters Mary Theresa Davis and Dolores Foley.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 3:00 pm on Sunday for the convenience of family and friends.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church 17630 Virginia Ave. Hagerstown, MD on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 11:00 am with Father John Jicha and Deacon Michael Lewandowske celebrant. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
