Mary Busko Obituary
Mary was born in Lenoir, NC and graduated from Davidson College with a degree in Art History. She received her MBA at the University of North Carolina where Mary met her future husband, Eric.
Mary and Eric shared many passions including travel, music, the outdoors, hiking, reading, the Pittsburgh Steelers and their Faith. Their biggest shared joy was raising and taking pride in their two daughters, Mae and Harper.
They lived in Atlanta, where Mary worked for Coca-Cola before leaving to raise their daughters. Mary volunteered her time: she served at Meals on Wheels, Holy Innocents Episcopal School and as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.
Mary will be remembered for being loving, smart, charismatic, funny, interesting, interested, creative, kind and gracious.
Mary is survived by her parents, Anne and George Alexander Bernhardt, Sr., husband of 22 years, Eric Busko, daughters Mae and Harper, brother, George Alexander Bernhardt, Jr. (Tavia), sister Lillian Sutcliff (Nick), mother-in-law Marjorie Busko, sister-in-law Lisa Johnson (Mike), brother-in-law William Busko II (Morgan) and nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her father-in-law William Busko.

I had the great privilege of meeting Mary and her family at RLazyS Ranch 7 years ago when I was there with my family. Mary was a light and joy. When she walked in the room she changed the energy. Watching her with Eric and how he looked at her, was inspiring for any married couple. I only knew her for a week but I haven't forgotten her. We couldn't have been more different (me from India and living in New England....) but our conversations flowed effortlessly. She didn't see barriers.
My heart is so heavy for her family and this immense loss. It is not fair that one of the best people should be taken from us.
