Maurice Cook Obituary
On Thursday, October 2, 2014, Maurice Edward Cook, Sr., age 83. Beloved husband of the late Virginia Lee Cook; devoted father of Victoria A. Groomes, Maurice E. Cook, Jr., Michael S. Cook, Robert J. Cook, Sr., Steven Cook, Timothy R.E. Cook, and the late Mark S. Cook. Also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Cook was also one of 16 siblings, including his surviving sister Anne E. Haydickey. Maurice's life will be honored at the family owned Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Bel Air, 3 Newport Dr. (Rts 23 & 24 - Forest Hill) on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 P.M. A funeral service will be held the following day at Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church, 1707 E. Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD 21015 beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment Dublin Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church at the above address. Memory tributes may be sent to the family at: www.evansfuneralchapel.com.

It is incredibly rare to meet someone who in a short amount of time makes an inspiring impression on you. Pops was one of these people. I consider myself fortunate to have met him and his ever present sense of humor. If I learn to live my life with a tenth of as much strength, positive energy, and wit as Pops, I will count myself as having lived a good life.
