Melvin Riddle Obituary
Melvin L. Riddle Sr., 81, of Woodlawn MD, left to take his place among the Angels on March 12, 2016. Born November 25, 1934, beloved husband and preceded in death of Thelma J. Riddle (Oakman). Survived by children Crystal, Judith, Melvin Jr., Sheldon, Bonnie and respective spouses, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren. A Memorial will be held on Sunday, April 3rd at 1pm at the VFW Post 467 519 Poole Rd. Westminster MD 21157. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Johns Hopkins Burn Center.

My wife, Carol and I have spoken of Mel and Thelma just recently. Mel and I worked together in the Fire Dept. We moved to Parkville in the late 70s, early 80s, but were still in touch. The Riddles offered us their RV for a long weekend get away with the kids. Going out Rt 40, the RV broke down. Fortunately there was an RV dealer near by and we could have it temporarily repaired to get back home. We spent that night in the RV in our driveway so the kids wouldn't be too disappointed. Mel was so sorry for us, but we all laughed and we will always have that memory. Rest in Peace Mel from Frank and Carol O'Brien

Uncle Melvin you will be missed so much. You always made Liz and I feel like part of the family, even before I married into this family. You will always be part of our hearts and memories.
We know you are up in heaven finally with your Love Thelma. Give Bessie and Bill hugs for us. Now all of us have many Angels watching over us all.

No words can express the loss I feel since my Poppy left. My life will never be the same. But I know that he is with Mom now and has his bright happy smile once again! I was blessed to have such amazingly wonderful parents and twice blessed to know them as friends! I will forever miss you!!! Your loving BRAT!! ❤

I love you pop-pop. I'll never forget our travels to North Carolina. We would stop at nothing but waffle houses. We seen an exit sign named "dinwiddle" ever since then you would call me that! I miss you so much.

As it is so hard to say good-bye to a loved one, we know in our hearts it is the inevitable part of life's circle. Uncle Melvin will be missed by all the people he smiled with, he laughed with, he loved with. He was a very caring person that just brightened your day.
