I WILL LOVE YOU DAD,IM BEEN IN THE FAMILY FOR 41 YEARS LONG TIME TO KNOW SUCH A FATHER TO ME .WHEN MY REAL DAD PASS AWAY MELVIN RIDDLE SR TOOK THE PLACE OF HIM. I KNOW YOU ARE WITH MOM AND MY DAD RAY AND ANN SHEPHARD WILL ALWAYS OVE YOU.

My wife, Carol and I have spoken of Mel and Thelma just recently. Mel and I worked together in the Fire Dept. We moved to Parkville in the late 70s, early 80s, but were still in touch. The Riddles offered us their RV for a long weekend get away with the kids. Going out Rt 40, the RV broke down. Fortunately there was an RV dealer near by and we could have it temporarily repaired to get back home. We spent that night in the RV in our driveway so the kids wouldn't be too disappointed. I am so sorry to hear that Poppy passed away. I remember when we (Sharon and I) went to the family picnic and your dad was there with a big smile. RIP POPPY

Uncle Melvin you will be missed so much. You always made Liz and I feel like part of the family, even before I married into this family. You will always be part of our hearts and memories.
We know you are up in heaven finally with your Love Thelma. Give Bessie and Bill hugs for us. Now all of us have many Angels watching over us all.

No words can express the loss I feel since my Poppy left. My life will never be the same. But I know that he is with Mom now and has his bright happy smile once again! I was blessed to have such amazingly wonderful parents and twice blessed to know them as friends! I will forever miss you!!! Your loving BRAT!! ❤
