Michael Billian Obituary
On December 5, 2014 at age 58. Michael was a loving, generous, witty, and quietly peaceful man. His mother, Mary Ann (Jacobson Billian) Shaw preceded him in death. Loving father of Benjamin Billian and Mary Ann Billian, he is also survived by his father Leonard Billian; step-mother Virginia Billian; sisters Julie Billian, Rachel (Mike) Clark, and Jessica (John) Pierce; former wife Susana Arriagada; step-daughter Caroline (Greg) Leibowitz; 4 nieces; 1 nephew; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice or Baltimore Homa Community. A celebration of his life will be held on December 20, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Towson Unitarian Universalist Church,1710 Dulaney Valley Rd. Lutherville, MD 21093.

I bought tomato plants from Mike off craigslist one summer and ended up working for his landscaping company. He gave me herb plants, cuttings from his Brugmansia/Angel's trumpet tree, forwarded farming and plant related events to me, even set me up with side gardening jobs. Thinking of his generosity, kindness, wit, and total unpretentiousness makes me proud to be from the same part of the country as him. Thanks for everything Mike

As one of Maryann's close friend growing up I have fond memories of being over Mr. Mike's house. He was always so welcoming and adored his 2 children Maryann and Ben. He was caring of animals and nature.His life was cut too short and for that I pray for his family and friends. However, I hope he can rest in peace when he looks down and sees the beautiful adults his children grew to be inside and out. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Michael was a very sweet natured person. I became close to him after the passing of his mother Mary Ann. We lost touch over the last year or so and I was not aware of his death or of the service. I am sure there are many people In addition to his children and extended family who will miss him greatly. One of the last things we did together was to rescue a stray dog that he had found wandering the street. He named him Jack and took care of him until he found a home for him. That's the kind of person Michael was.

This morning I was sadly informed of Michael's recent passing. I haven't seen Michael since 1974 where we attended Milford Mill Senior High School. I was always very fond of Michael. He had a gentle soul. We enjoyed attending concerts and parties together. He was generous and had a wonderful sense of humor.

So sorry for your loss. I only met Mike a few times when he would come to the pool, but I always felt he was a special person. Be comforted by the fact his pain is over and he is living with the Lord.
