It has always been such a delight to visit this branch and be met by Sam and her warm smile. Despite her own issues she has always openly shared her laughter, her love of her dogs, her crafty decorating style and of course those hats! The electronics community and especially her Avnet family will greatly miss her. What a spirit!

I just heard of Sam's passing and I wanted to express my heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends. Everytime I called into Avnet, Sam always had a kind word and would make you laugh. When I would come into the branch, Sam always had a big bright smile, a kind word, and almost always a hug. She was a very kind person and a ray of sunshine to anyone she came in contact with. She will be missed by many and I pray that she is comfortable & smiling and still has that twinkle in her eye. God Bless

I'm so sorry I didn't make it to Patsy's viewing and funeral. I was out of town when I heard. Although I didn't see Patsy much in recent years we did manage to communicate through e-mail. Patsy was such an important part of my childhood. She was the big sister I never had. I can't remember ever seeing her without a smile on her face. It is hard to believe that she is gone so young. Please know that all of you are in my prayers. I'm sure Patsy is at peace and smiling.

I'm not sure, really, where to start. I met Sam on a December day in 2000 when I arrived at the Baltimore AVT branch for an interview. Through my years, I always made an effort to engage the receptionist in light conversation. That day, I was a nervous interviewee. Upon arrival I met Sam. We talked about her dogs, the weather, etc. Sam really had a way of making me brush off my nervousness. She made me feel as if I was already part of the family. With a quick wink and a "good luck" I was off to the interview.
It wasn't until I started working with Avnet, that I realized Sam's gift. Sam made every caller feel as if they were part of the family. While Sam didn't work directly for me, she knew when I was in a time of trouble and when I was in a time joy. She would often send me an email just to brighten my day.
One of my fondest memories of Sam was when we invited the children of our staff to the "Bring Your Kids to Work Day". We invited the local fire department to the office to entertain the kids and show them the fire equipment. Minutes after their arrival, they were called away to an emergency. Sam picked up where the firefighters left off. She donned a plastic fire hat and showed the kids how to answer the telephones. I still have the picture that appeared in the Avnet Global Perspective article.
Sam, I will miss you dearly. I am grateful to have had you in my life for a short period of time. I will miss your laugh; your smile; your uplifting attitude. I will never forget you.

To the family & friends of my dear friend Sam. I am so sorry and surprised to hear of her passing. I will never forget her smiling face, her jokes, or the very funny emails she would send to me from time to time. When I worked at Hallmark/Avnet, I would always look forward to her greetings in the morning, and her kindness throughout the day. Sam was truly a great person. She was always an inspiration to me. I will never forget her. I will think of her often, and miss her terribly.
Cornel.

Sam will always be a part of Avnet and I will hold her friendship near to my heart. She was always smiling and laughing, never complaining. Our customers and family's enjoyed her friendly conversations when they would call in. She will be missed and never forgotten. I'm sure she is is looking down at us with a big bright smile.
