On behalf of the American Theatre Critics Association, of which Pat Hook was a member, good friend and benefactor, I'd like to express widespread sadness at her passing. Through the Evan Shipley Hook fund she inaugurated, she has helped with the education and development of young critics. But more important, she was a sunny, supportive presence at ATCA gatherings. We miss her.

Pat was a daily visitor to the Annapolis Area Library during the last several years. I think the staff was universally dazzled by her courage as she continued to do what she loved - write theater and music reviews, determined to maintain her independence and mobility . She was a huge asset to the local arts and journalism community. I have missed her at the library and share other's grief at her passing.

I appreciate Pat's caring and concern for prommoting all of the arts. And I especially appreciated her efforts to to review and preview all of the arts in the Capital Gazette. She was "friend" to all of the arts, and I will always cherish her hard work and effort to review and preview the Ballet Theatre of Maryland. She was a rare individual who not only championed the arts, but helped a newcomer to the art scene in Maryland feel at home. I will always be grateful to her for that. She will be missed.

I enjoyed her theater reviews and her warm smile when I saw her at one of my shows. I appreciate all her hard work to be fair to the vivid theater community.-

I always enjoyed reading Pat's reviews in the Capital and she was always so warm and friendly when she came to see one of my shows or when I bumped into her when I was out and about. She will be missed.
