Peggy Fisher

1925 - 2021

Peggy Fisher, 95, died May 30, 2021 at Fairhaven Retirement Community Sykesville, Maryland. She was born August 10, 1925 in Baltimore, daughter of the late George M. Daneker and Mary Priscilla (Beauchamp) Daneker

Peggy graduated from Eastern High School, class of 1943. Following graduation she attended nursing school at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Mary Ruth (Daneker) Doss. Surviving Peggy are her brother George, four children, Lynn Fisher Little (David), Cheryl Fisher Carnahan (Stephen), Bette Fisher Hereth (Joe Marino) and J. Charles Fisher, Jr. (Barbara); eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

From 1980 - 2012 Peggy worked for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab in reception/security. She was a long-standing member of Glen Mar United Methodist Church as well as a member and active volunteer with the Howard County Historical Society. For 20+ years she was a 4-H volunteer club leader and active with the Howard County 4-H Youth program. For many years Peggy was involved with the Howard County Farm Bureau Women's Auxiliary.

Peggy was a very independent woman, she loved to travel, dance and was an avid reader. She was kind, caring and friendly to everyone, she never met a stranger!

The family will hold a private service and burial, with plans to host a Celebration of Life for Peggy in August 2021. Arrangements by Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville, Maryland.
