Peter Koufos Obituary



Peter A. Koufos, 72, of Gettysburg, PA died suddenly Tuesday morning, November 1, 2016 in Baltimore, MD. Born August 26, 1944 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Antonios and Winifred (Adams) Koufos. Antonios was an Anatolian Greek from Smyrna and Winifred was from Baltimore. Mr. Koufos worked as a computer programmer for the Department of Defense. He enjoyed the outdoors, walking, working in his garden, and history. Peter is survived by his four children, Nick Koufos and his wife Melissa, of York Springs, PA, Alysia Perry her husband Mark, of Colorado, Paul Koufos, of York Springs, PA, Anastasia Jones and her husband Dan, of York Springs, PA, 17 grandchildren, Ava, Nikos, Sophia, Alexandros, Anatolia and Agnesina Koufos, Emma and Nathan Perry, Philip, Damien, Karol, Patrick, Gregory, Danny, Helena, Regina, and Roman Jones, and one sister, Margaret Susan Perkinson, of Timonium, MD, his significant other, Cass Boyle and the mother of his children, Rose Ann Koufos. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Koufos, two sisters, Katherine Albert and Mary Agnes Petty, and two brothers, William Leonard and Michael Leonard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St., New Oxford, PA with Fr. Michael Letteer Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday evening, November 7, 2016 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Online condolences may be made at
