Peter Koufos Obituary
Pete graduated from Munster High School and later joined the United States Navy. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1979 and honorably served in the Philippines, San Diego, CA and Hawaii.
Pete is survived by his fiancé, Karla Frenchi; siblings, Maria (Niall) McShane, Steve (Cassandra) Koufos; and many nieces, nephews-in-law, grand-niece and grand-nephew.
Pete was preceded in death by his father, James P. Koufos, and mother, Barbara Koufos.
Pete enjoyed visiting with Veterans, volunteering at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, eating at restaurants and spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation in honor of Pete.
