Philip Zieve Obituary
On September 10, 2016, Dr. Philip David Zieve; beloved husband of Elaine Zieve (nee Wishnie); cherished father of Melissa Zieve (Peter Berns), Karyn Zieve (Joel Cohen), and Allison Zieve (Aaron Kaslow); loving grandfather of Eli, Rose, Jesse and Sarah Berns-Zieve, Harry, Samuel and Mariana Zieve-Cohen, and Emilia and Benjamin Kaslow-Zieve; devoted brother of the late Hilary (Albert) Kilberg; adored son of the late Rose and William Zieve. Funeral services are private. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Development Office, 5200 Eastern Avenue, MFL Center Tower, Suite 359, Baltimore, MD 21224. In mourning at 111 Hamlet Hill Road, #1306, Baltimore, MD 21210, receiving Sunday from 4:30-7:30pm, and Monday from 5-8pm.

Phil was my mentor during my rotation at Baltimore City Hospital when I was a student at Hopkins Medical School. He was the smartest guy I ever met at that point. I was fortunate to renew my friendship and work with him for many years after I returned to the faculty at Hopkins. Phil was a Mensch.He was brilliant, caring and a role model. He represented the best as an outstanding clinician, administrator and most importantly as a human being. The world is better for his work, compassion and dedication. Thank you for Phil. You should be proud.

To the Zieve family I offer my condolences. I worked with Dr. Zieve on the Library Advisory Committee and other projects. He was an awesome and humble man. He will be greatly missed here at Bayview.
