Phoebe Kent Obituary

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully after a long and interesting life. She grew up in Trenton, New Jersey and married her grocery delivery boy, Robert, in 1944 while he was in Army Air Force training in Hays, Kansas. After the war, they had three children, Michael, Stephen and Suzanne and they moved to Maryland in 1955. In 1962, Bob accepted the appointment as Information Officer for the American Embassy in Rio De Janeiro, Brasil and moved the family there. In 1970, they returned to Maryland where they lived in Kensington and later Silver Spring, Maryland. She was well known for her amazing sewing and knitting, having made all her own clothes for many years. Several years after Bob died in 2016, she moved to Springwell Senior Living in Baltimore where she lived and played mahjong until shortly before she passed. Shortly after her 100th birthday she was named an Honorary Grand Marshal at the Mount Washington Independence Day Parade. Services are private and her ashes will be interred next to Bob's at Judean Memorial Gardens in Olney, Maryland. Contributions in her honor may be made to GrandDogs Rescue & Adoption, CharmCityCompanions.org or OperationSmile.org .
