Robert Keith Obituary

ROBERT KEITH December 25, 1952 - October 13, 2008. Robert (Bob) James Keith, 55, joined his beloved wife, Diana to be with Jesus Christ whom he deeply loved. Bob quietly passed away on October 13, 2008, at home in Farmington, NM. Born December 25, 1952, in Mineral Wells, TX, Bob grew up in El Paso and was a graduate of Jesuit High School and UT El Paso. He proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in Viet Nam as an Operating Room Technician. In El Paso, he worked with United Way and eventually transferred to Oklahoma City where he continued to use his humor and endearing personality taking care of others. Bob then worked for Target in both Albuquerque and Farmington as a Director of Human Resources, a position that he truly loved. He often referred to the people at Target as his "other family." Bob is survived by his three children: daughter Kirsten Lofton (Ricky) and their son, Noah, of El Paso; son Ryan Hatch of Albuquerque, and daughter Kori Crow (Chad) currently abroad in Argentina. Bob is also survived by his parents Neil and Ardell Keith of El Paso and his brothers and their spouses: Pat and Cindy Keith of Virginia and their daughter Kelly Higdon (Greg), David and Terry Keith of California and their sons Clifford and Jeffrey, and Joe and Norma Keith of El Paso, their son Caleb and daughters Sara Neel (Brad) and Meagan. Other survivors include his father and mother-in-law Carroll and Bonnie Crawford, sister-in-law Rebecca Crawford, and brother-in-law Scott Crawford, all of Farmington, NM. Bob also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Pumpkin. A public memorial service will be held in Farmington, NM on Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 211 W. 20th Street, at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. John Preston will be officiating. A memorial service will also be held in El Paso, TX on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2800 Pershing Drive, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Bob requested that people do something kind for a veteran they may know and tell them it was, "from Bob." Bob is under the care of Alternative Choice.

I was so shocked to hear that Bob had passed. I know he missed Diana terribly and now he is with her. I hired Bob to be my Campaign Director in Oklahoma City. He was warm, funny, outgoing and a great friend. I was lucky enough to talk to him a week before he passed. He was a nice guy, a good friend and a great person. Although we had not seen each other for 15 years, I'll miss him greatly.

I am so sorry for the passing of Mr. Keith. I did not know him but I know his dear wife passed only a few months ago.
My condolences to all the family - especially to Ryan Hatch. He lost his mother such a short time ago and now his stepfather. Your faith makes you strong, Ryan and we love you at St. Tim's.

My deepest sympathy to all, I was a friend of Bob's at Jesuit HS and had lost touch with him over the years. He was a great individual and will be missed by many.

To the Keith Family:
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Bobby was a good friend of mine in our high school years. May God be with you in your loss.
