I had the honor of meeting Mr. Moxley through his son, my friend and classmate from the University of Denver David. They welcomed me into their family on several occasions both in Maryland and up in their cabin in Maine. Mr. Moxley and I shared the love of the F-86 Sabre jet, we were both members of the F-86 Sabre Pilots Association. He even let my borrow his brown leather pilots jacket and some gun camera film he acquired while in Korea. We both knew General Charles Chick Cleveland although I didn't realize at the time that I was in the presence of greatness. His and Jean's humble kindness and generosity were always very, very special to me. I will always thank God for the blessing of meeting Dave and his parents. For Robert, Jean, and all the rest of the sabre pilots that have flown into the west, God speed, safe home, and eternal blue skies and a strong tailwind. I hope to see Dave and express my condolences in person.

In a short period of time, I came to love Bob Moxley. I sensed in him a deep love of country, a devotion to the democratic, entrepreneurial way of life, a reverence for his deceased wife, a generosity that knew no bounds, and a toughness and self-effacing manner that endeared him to us professional military men. This country has lost a great American.
