Robert Post Obituary

Robert Post died suddenly December 4, 2020 at the age of 60. "Bob" was born in Buffalo, NY, the youngest of four children to Ed and Claudia Post. He grew up in a celebratorily Polish household and carried forward a great love and cherishing of Polish traditions, which he passed on to his own family. Bob attended Duquesne University in Pittsburg where he began dating Cheryl who was to become his wife shortly after their graduation. They spent the following several years in the D.C. metropolitan area where they both become quite successful, Bob in accounting and finance, and Cheryl in marketing. They had their first child, Sam, shortly thereafter, who was followed three years later by Amanda. Bob was a devoted husband and a loving father who will be fondly remembered for his charm, mirth, and occasional mischief. He could be found at his children's soccer games or hockey games, and following Amanda's passing as a teenager, he dedicated a significant portion of his life to developing children's in-patient care at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. He found a talent in management and particularly in restructuring companies to profitability within the hospitality sector. His professional record includes The Knowland Group, FranConnect, Cloud5 Communications, TravelClick, Oracle, MICROS Systems, and Westinghouse, as well as having received several awards in recognition of his work. Bob was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan, a point of ongoing devotion and ongoing disappointment. He also found a later passion in life in restoring vintage cars. He could be found playing golf with his family, or simply in the company of family, regardless of how many branches away they were. He was loved and will be missed greatly. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his son Sam, his siblings Susan, Paul, and Jim, his siblings-in-law Laurie, Roger, Len, Tammy, Tracy, Dave, Jeanette, Rick, and Mary Beth, his nieces and nephews and nieces- and nephews- in-law Matthew, Joseph, Abbie, Tom, Jim, Kara, Zach, Justin, Emma, Elijah, Jeff, Rachel, Kim, Mike, Christopher, Amie, Margaret, Miles, Jonathan, Julia, Allie Matt, Mollie, Hazel, Sophia, Sara, Sean, Theo, Olivia, and Evelyn, as well as countless other family members and friends. In honor of Bob's memory, the family requests donations be made to either The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (http://www.lls.org), or the Community Foundation of Howard County's "Amanda Post Memorial Fund" (https://bit.ly/APostFund) so named for his daughter and the annual scholarships awarded in her memory. Bob will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Buffalo, NY, with a memorial service/celebration of life to be held at a later date.

Bob was such an important part of my professional growth at TravelClick and for that I will forever be grateful. He was a great leader and wonderful human being. I am so saddened by his passing. My heart and prayers go out to Cheryl and the rest of Bob’s family. I know he is laughing and loving in heaven- so happy to be reunited with Amanda. Much love and RIP Bob!
