Robert Sachs Obituary

Doctor Robert Irvin Sachs, 76, of Baltimore Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023 surrounded by his friends and family.



Robert was born on January 4, 1947 to Esther Schenker and Frank Sachs in Baltimore. After attending Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and graduating from The Johns Hopkins University, he studied molecular genetics at Purdue University. He went on to the University of Maryland where he received his dental degrees and where he met his beloved wife, Susan Hayduk.



He practiced dentistry as a periodontist and prosthodontist in Baltimore for almost 30 years, and mentored students at the University of Maryland Dental School. He was a talented artist and creator, who painted and made jewelry for his wife, built furniture, and crafted pottery. He was a lifelong golf enthusiast and he enjoyed attending the concerts of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.



He was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his son Michael Sachs and daughter in law Erin Gabriel of Malmo, Sweden, and his daughter Rebecca McCormick and son in law Scott McCormick of York, PA, his granddaughter Rose, and his grandson Finnegan.
