I am a good friend of Mr. Schmitt's son, Robert, with whom I attended St. Anthony's School in Baltimore in the 1960s. I remember the elder Robert as a warm and friendly man who always made me feel welcome in his home. My sympathies to his family for his passing. He will be greatly missed.
