Robin Pascal Obituary

ROBIN E. PASCAL died suddenly and unexpectantly on Friday, December 20, 2002 of heart failure. Robin was born in Baltimore and raised in Severna Park, where she was an outstanding gymnast and track star at Severna Park High School. After graduation in 1982 she attended Montreat-Anderson College and Corcoran Institute of Art in Washington D.C. She also attended Anne Arundel Community College. She married Ronald A. Zabiegalski with whom she had three beautiful children, Robert A., Ronald Benjamin and Marisa Jane Elizabeth Zabiegalski, now twenty, nineteen and sixteen respectively. Robin was an accomplished artist and was preparing to teach art in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Robin was known for her compassion and loving heart. She made two trips to Odessa, Ukraine to work with the Universal Aid for Children Program for thousands of Ukranian Orphans. The program was founded eight years ago by her sister Clara Jane Pascal. Robin sponsored several orphans personally. One young boy Sergei was adopted by a Virginia family last summer as a result of Robins efforts to help him for the last several years. She gave him a birthday party every year and paid for English lessons for him and his brother Dima. Sergei had not known his birthday until Robin researched his date of birth. Robin is survived by her parents Sen. Nancy Wainwright of Severna Park, MD and Pinecrest, CA and Sen. Robert A. Pascal of St. Michaels, MD; three sisters Catherine Anne Pascal, Margaret Lynn Pascal Grasmick and Clara Jane Pascal. She is also survived by her grandmother Rhoda C. Ware and two brothers-in-law Grant I. Grasmick and Ron A. Strom. She had eight nieces and nephews Sarah M., Matthew G. W., Joshua Pascal Grasmick and Margaret Elizabeth Grasmick, Zachary Pascal Strom, Hannah Pascal Strom and Samantha Pascal Strom and Luke Antonio Pascal adopted from a Ukranian Orphanage as a baby by her sister Clara Jane. All of her sisters participated with her in aiding the orphans including all three of Robins children, traveling to the Ukrain to work with many of the orphans helping to run a summer camp by the sea. Robin was beautiful, smart, talented and her laugh was irresistible. Her family will miss her forever, and they know she is in the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Saviour. Her last words, heard by her daughter Marisa, were It looks like heaven. Visitation will be held on Sunday 7 to 9 P.M. at the Barranco & Sons P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, Ritchie Hwy at Robinson Rd. Services will be held on Monday 11 A.M at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 255 Najoles Dr. off of Benfield Blvd. in Millersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Universal Aid for Children Inc., attn: Clara Pascal, 167 SW 6th, Pompano Beach, FL 33060.

I offer my condolences to the family and I pray that they all know Robin is now embraced by the love and salvation of Jesus Christ. I was neighbor to the Pascal family for many years and an occasional baby sitter. Bob, Nancy, and all the children are in my thoughts and prayers.

I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathies to Robin's parents, sisters, and children. Robin was one of my dearest childhood friends and I will cherish my wonderful memories of our "middle school" years together. I will never forget her incredibly infectious laugh.

When I heard of Robin's passing, I was deeply saddened. Though I haven't spoken to Robin in many years, she was one of my dearest friends in high school. It did not surprise me to learn of her devotion to Ukranian children because my fondest memory of her was her kind and generous spirit. I not only remember her thoughtfulness, but also her fun loving nature. We shared many good times cheerleading and "exploring" our teenage years! Although she will be greatly missed it comforts me to know, she is truly in a better place. I want to honor her memory by making a donation to the Universal Aid for Children,Inc. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Bobbi

I was saddened to read about Robin's death. Please extend my sympathies to her Father and her family.

I did not know Robin but I knew her Father throught my employment at Anne Arundel Community Colllege. It was through Mr. Pascal that we finally achieved a step system for the college similar to that of other public institutions. I was a memeber of the informal group that met with Mr. Pascal at his office to plead our case. I thought he was an excellent County executive--approachable and well -intentioned towards the needs of the County. The Pascal Center speaks to his sensitivity to the needs of the aging. When I read about Robin and her many good works, I felt that her Father surely was a role model for her as she grew up.

I lost my son in an accident when he was 22 years of age so I know the pain of knowing the loss of a young person with still so much to accomplish. However, she surely left her mark and will long be remembered by those who have benefitted from her life and the love she gave so freely to her family and to those in need.

Bob, you and your family have my deepest symapthy, and know there are those who still remeber you and the good you accomplished.
