Every day I spend in the Courtroom I am reminded of how few can approach, let alone match, your preparation and performance. I was blessed to have your example. Your legacy lives in my courtroom and always will. Sally Chester

I cannot believe Mr. Walker has been gone 10 years. To this day he remains a presence in courtrooms through the hundreds of Judges, attorneys and clients he inspired and influenced. His impact on my career is indelible. I think of him often and have tried to pass on his lessons to others. He loved the practice more than anything. I only hope he can continue in the afterlife.
Vada carries on without the love of her life. Her adoration sparkles in her eyes when she speaks of him. I hope to keep his legacy alive.

In 1961, after graduating from law school, Roland hired me to work for him (Ihad to convince him that he needed someone.) Several years later, he made me his partner. Roland and I worked together for 13 years before I accepted appointment as a federal administrative judge.
I can honestly say everything I learned about how to deal with people with legal issues, how to conduct one's self in court, etc., I learned from him.In particular, I admired his sense of humor in virtually all situations. We laughed a lot together. We remained friends for over 50 years, and I really miss him.

Vada/Lindsey: I read of Roland's passing and wish to offer my sincere condolences.
As you recall, Roland brought Lindsey to the office several times and each conversation we had was meaningful and enjoyable.
My thoughts are with you.

I have known Roland for 25 years through my work as a prosecutor. We were on opposite sides of the courtroom on many occasions, but those legal battles never spilled over into any personal animosity. I admired the zealous defense he offered his clients and knew that the cases would be hard, but fair, proceedings. I admired his courtroom demeanor and his closing arguments were always something to behold. He was as diligent as any advocate could be for his clients but it never resulted in any harsh words between him and me. His passing is a great loss to the legal arena. Roland will be remembered for a long time by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. To Vada and his children, may you experience peace knowing that he no longer has to deal with the illness that sapped him of his strength, and find solace in the love he had for all of you. Mr. Walker was very kind and friendly. I worked in the same building with him for a few years and he always had a hello for me. May he rest in eternal peace.

Roland Walker hired me in June 1978 after my second year in law school I went on to be his associate and worked for him until August of 1986. He was my boss, my teacher and was integral in my development and success as a lawyer. No one loved the practice of law more than he. It was his vocation and his avocation. He was tireless in his preparation and presentation in the representation of his clients. Literally no stone was left unturned, as many times I was the one doing the lifting.
His clients were devoted to him and would return through the decades to see their lawyer, Mr. Walker. He would represent generations of families who would call him at home at all hours to ask for help and advice.
Having worked for Mr. Walker I had a range of experience in many areas and one thing woman rarely were able to do, trial work. He sent me out with his blessing and told me to never give up and push for every advantage you can get for your client.
I tried Roland, and when I succeeded, I knew you were a part of it. My courtroom will be silent in your honor tomorrow. I thank you in spite of how hard I had to work, because I was a better lawyer.
To Vada and the Family, God blessed Roland with an understanding family and a devoted and adoring wife. He was special and because of Vada he could devote himself to his career and was able to be with her at the end.
I'll see you in court Mr. Walker and the memorandum will be ready to provide the Court. Love Always, Sally C. Chester and Nicky

I knew Roland my entire life as Lindsey was my closest childhood friend. When I was in elementary school, he was practically a second father to me. His charming nature and inviting countenance was always comforting over the years - I will miss him, he was family, a role model and a friend.
