HORVITZ, SR. , Ronald J. On September 8, 2013, Ronald Joseph Horvitz, Sr. ; beloved husband of Darlene Mary Horvitz (nee: Brown); devoted father of Ronald Joseph Horvitz, Jr., Adriane Marie Horvitz and Melissa Horvitz; dear brother of JoAnn Ebbey and Kenneth Horvitz. Also survived by many loving extended family members.
Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc. 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236, on Thursday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Shrine of the Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, 3500 Belair Rd., Baltimore, MD, 21213, on Friday, 10 AM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675. Online tributes may be left at

To all the immediate and extended family of Ron - I just found out about the passing of Ron and I am so shocked. We would have spoken on a daily basis over two years but, like everything in this commodity business our paths went different directions in past 6 months. Ron was one of the absolute honest guys and always professional and funny to deal with. It was a pleasure to know him and the world is a sadder place with his passing.

Sorry for your loss he was my buddy we talked almost every day for 6 yrs by text, skype ,or by email , phone . He was one funny guy had me laughing everyday when he sent me a joke he will be missed he texted me on the 6th he always called me icedog

Darlene, I am one of Ron's cousin's. My father, Frank Lorenzo, was his mother's brother. I also worked for his father when I was about 10. We all h ad great memories as children. I am sorry for your loss and you and your family will be in my prayers.

I met Ron while working in the commodities bisiness early 2011. He has always assured me that he has my back if anything closed via my introduction- well- if I close I will bless his family as if you are anything like Ron, you are all a class act! I was blessed to know such an amazing human being. Just a couple months ago I said to him this in an email : I can only wish that I could be in heaven to be your angel as well as all others...well Ron beat me to it!
