SCOTT, our son-in-law, for almost 25 years was like another son to us.
We admired his knowledge about many subjects. He was calm, purposeful and committed to Amy his wife and Logan and Araceli their children.
Often at dinner we were amused at how Scott gently teased Amy while maintaining a dry-wit in observing her reactions.
Several years ago in 2014, we were having water flooding into our garage and basement after heavy rains. Scott worked with us trying to correct this. We came up with the idea of a rain garden where the rain-spouts and excess water across the front of our house during rain storms would connect to an under ground system of pipes guiding the water across the front of out property into the 80 foot long rain garden that Scott created. The rain garden absorbs the water thru the pipes and the excess water heads down the hill away from the house. It is still working.
Scott was a great Father, at times during this project Scott brought Logan and Araceli with him. They had fun getting rides in the truck, bobcat etc. We remember Araceli standing in the deep dug our space of the rain garden it was deeper than her height at the time, before layers of sand, stones and soil were eventually added.
When the project was underway, Scott, Patrick and I, planted over 40 native plants creating a pollinator's habitat. We shared the love of nature.
During this major work, many established shrubs had to be removed into a holding area that Scott developed from excess wood chips from 15 large trees that had to be removed ( by another company),mulch and soil This was successful . The replanted shrubs are still existing it was a success.
Our mutual admiration of nature also included Scotts appreciation of his father-in-laws art/sculpture work. On several occasions, Scott helped Patrick transport his sculpture from the barn-studio to various gallery exhibits in Baltimore.
Adam, our son, Scotts brother-in-law mentioned that this past Mothers Day he and Scott talked about many subjects while Amy, Araceli and I were visiting a local nursery buying plants for this summer, Adam said that he will hold onto that memory of the last time he saw Scott.
I can still vividly picture Scott and Odin, the family's beloved Golden Retriever, playing ball and and running around our property. This give sis a good feeling.
We are so deeply saddened that no longer will Scott be with us. We will miss him always.
RIP Scott

Your mother-in-law Dee

Scott designed much of and installed all of the Lawn Irrigation Systems at the White House and The Ellipse for the National Park Service. Scott's personality and character exceeded the highest standards. He was trustworthy, reliable and professional. I consider him a good friend. We mourn his loss and extend our prayers and sympathies to his family. The world is a lessor place upon his passing.

Scott installed much of the irrigation system at the National Arboretum where I worked until I retired last fall. He was a hard worker with a great can-do attitude. He was always kind and never boastful, though he accomplished a lot in his too-short life. Thoughts and prayers for the entire family.

Heart felt sorrow in learning about Scott´s premature death. Scott and mother, Betty, were a team with high goals. And they succeeded. Hard workers. I am very sad when I think of what could have been in life on earth but must accept the reality. Blessings to the family.
