Shawn McDOWELL

Shawn McDowell of Baltimore, Maryland passed Saturday afternoon, October 28th, 2023 after an extended illness. Shawn was born December 26th, 1957, in Lima Ohio. He attended elementary, Jr. High, and High School in Columbus Grove, Ohio where he was involved in band, choir and the HS musicals. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from Bowling Green State University and Master of Music degree from Southwest Texas State University. He played and sang in a number of church and community groups including the Texas Bach Choir, St Andrews Bell Choir, the Baltimore Symphony Chorus, the Society of Early Music of Northern Maryland, and the Baltimore Symphonic Band. He attended St Marks Lutheran Church in Baltimore where he was a member of the choir and often played his flute for services. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12th at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1900 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD 21218. Donations in his memory can be made to St. Marks.
