Shirley Betty Akman

Shirley Betty Akman (nee Jacobs), of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, at the age of 96. She is survived by her loving sons, Steven Akman (Anita Leonard), Michael Akman (Shelly Lurie-Akman), and Scott (Terri) Akman; her dear sisters-in-law, Marion Akman, Anita (Melvin) Steinberg, and Natalie Gorelick; her adoring grandchildren, Joshua (Lauren) Akman, Frederick Akman (Autumn Speaks), Shea Beitler-Akman (Hilary Frink), Rachel (Victor) Rodin, Sonia Akman, Jesse Akman (Betsy Sumerford), Brady Akman; and her cherished great grandchildren, Willow Akman, Evelyn Akman, and Olivia Akman. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Morton Jerome Akman; her devoted sister, Louise (Jack) Pasarew; her dear brothers-in-law, Alvin Akman and Malcom Gorelick; and her loving parents, Sarah and Samuel Jacobs.

Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, at 10:30 am. Interment Mikro Kodesh Beth Israel Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Hadassah Florida Atlantic,1325 South Congress Ave. Suite 209, Boynton Beach, FL 33426. The family will be in mourning at 250 Presidents Street, Unit #710, Baltimore, MD 21202, on Sunday following the interment with a service at 6:30pm, and on Monday with morning services at 8am and evening services at 6:30pm.
