Shirley Cobb Obituary

Shirley Stoup Cobb passed away peacefully at Gilchrist Hospice Care on the morning of February 16th, 2024. Known to the Cobb family as Gege, her infectious smile, and radiance when she entered a room will forever be remembered.

Born in Troy, Ohio, on June 30, 1934, Shirley grew up in Grosse Pointe, MI, and later attended Northwestern University. Following graduation, she remained in Chicago, where she met her beloved husband, the late James R. Cobb. Jim and Shirley's favorite times were with family and friends on the tennis court, golf course, and ski slopes.

Shirley was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and John MacGuffie of White Plains, NY, and her companion of 15 years, Raleigh Brent, of Baltimore, MD. She is survived by her children, Tracey Sheppard, her husband Bobby; granddaughters Austin and Taylor; Mike, his wife Amy; grandchildren Mike and Molly; Charlie, his wife Lin; and grandchildren Taylor, Liza, and Sarah. She was also blessed with one great-granddaughter, Caroline. The grands will miss Gege.
