Stanley Morrison Obituary

Dr Stanley Morrison passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, May 7th at age of 77. He is survived by his wife, Candis, his five sons, Timothy, Trevor, Zachary, Nicholas, and Spencer, and his three grandchildren Calvin, Sophia, and Benjamin.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware shortly after the war, and raised in Baltimore, with his brothers, Barry and Richard, Stan worked hard to follow his Uncle Sam to medical school, with whom he went into medical practice as a gastroenterologist for almost four decades.

His life was committed to the practice of medicine, his sons, and his wife. He loved his family, the Orioles and Ravens, and blue crabs.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in his name to the Salvation Army's Summer Camps.

I just learned today of Dr. Morrison's passing. I was his patient for 40 years. We had a standing joke about my procedures paying for the birth of his 5 sons. Before retiring he accurately diagnosed my husband giving him more years with our family. The world was a better place with Dr. Morrison in it. My sincere condolences to his family. May they find comfort in their memories.

I was both a patient of Doctor Samuel Morrison and then Doctor Stanley Morrison through out my entire life.

I loved them both. Dr. Stanley( as I called him) was my friend and the most wonderful doctor, friend, and family man I have ever known.

I loved seeing him in his office with the picture of his wife and sons and all the artwork and family treasures around his desk.

I am so sorry to see this obituary today. I wish I had known in May when he died. God bless you Dr. Stanley and God comfort your dear family! You will be forever missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing you!

I was Dr. Morrison's patient for over 30 years. He was one of the best docs in this area. I am in remission as a result of his care. There is an art in practicing his specialty, and he was the best. I miss him very much.

Lauren, my daughter and I were heartbroken to hear of Stan's passing. We have such special memories of our times together with young Tim, Trevor and Zachary and Candy and Stan. Great neighbors within walking distance of only two houses was great! Even though Stan wasn't my doctor, the two times I had colonoscopies he was in the same clinic space as my doctor and he stopped in to see me to see how I was doing. That meant so much to me that he took the time to be supportive. It is hard to believe that Stan is gone. Our heartfelt condolences to Candy, Tim,Trevor, Zachary, Nicholas and Spencer.

My wife - Pat- and I are completely heartbroken. I knew him initially through my clothing store. We was valued customer for at least 45 years. From knowing him then, he became my most valued doctor. I could ask him anything whether it pertained to his specialty or not. I had all his contact numbers and Stanley was insistent I used any of them no matter what. But mostly I thought of him as a very dear friend. I knew his five sons also through the store and remember them being proper kids. When he retired I was saddened. To Candy and the sons and their families my wife and I send our thoughts and condolences.I have not met many people like him. I am certain the " pattern" has been put away.

So shocked to hear this sad news. My Husband was his patient until his retirement. I knew Dr. Morrison as far back as the 1970´s when he was at Fort Howard Veterans Hospital for what I think was an apprenticeship. I also was scoped by Dr. Morrison, and he treated many of our family members. He was very helpful diagnosing my son´s diverticulitis. He would tell us about his son´s, you could hear the pride in his voice. I´ll always remember him for his kind ways, and how snappy he dressed. So very sad that he is gone. He was such a hard worker and great Doctor. Condolences to his entire family.

Stanley was my doctor and my cousin. The last time I saw him, I guess four years back before he retired, he and I talked through how we are related. My mother was a Lipsitz but I think the link was through her mother's side, which I believe was Plitt. Stanley knew more than I did, but I guess you could say we were second cousins once removed. I certainly remember more of Samuel from my childhood, and I believe there was a branch of the Morrison's in New York. I should have taken written notes and not left this rich chat to my not-so-great memory. Alas. But besides the family link and his magisterial command of his medical field, he was such a handsome and warm person. I was always so glad to see him that I actually looked forward to being scoped. He took very good care of me for decades. I am truly sorry to think of the world without him in it. Condolences to the entire family.
