On June 29, 2017, Dr. Stephen Peter Cohen; devoted father of Michael (Moriah) Cohen, Laura (Kevin) Cline; dear brother of Marjorie (Martin) Schwartzberg; adoring grandfather of Mac and Quinn Cohen, Brendan and Jessie Cline; loving son of the late Tessie and Meyer Cohen; former husband of Susan Cohen. Services at SOL LEVINSON & BROS., INC., 8900 Reisterstown Road, at Mount Wilson Lane, on Sunday, July 2, at 11 am. Interment Beth El Memorial Park - Randallstown. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Baltimore Cancer Support Group, 7910 Belair Road, Baltimore, MD 21236 or ALS Association, 7507 Standish Place, Rockville, MD 20855. In mourning at Suburban Country Club, 7600 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21208, immediately following interment, Sunday only, with a service at 4pm.

Just heard from Larry Robbins that Steve died last year. I am so sad to learn of this. Steve welcomed me to Sinai Hospital when I came on staff and we worked closely for years. We lost contact when Steve retired to Florida and I moved up to Massachusetts, but he was one of my very favorite people...a great doc, and a mensch with a delightful sense of humor.

My condolences; this man saved my life and I named my son after him! When I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer in 1986 this man came into my life in so many ways greater than just his knowledge as a physician and skill as a surgeon. It was his demeanor, his sense of humor that moved me most. He shared with me his personal journey, things I will not share here, but they put me at ease, gave me confidence. I carry a family name, eldest son of eldest son of eldest son... yet I named by eldest son; Stephen P. after this incredible man! One of the greatest memories of my life was taking my teenage son to meet him one day and how touched he was by the moment. Dr. Cohen... thank you for being there for me and my not yet born children. Thank YOU for Caring!
