On February 29, 2016, Thomas J. Heffernan, of Monkton; beloved husband of Tracey L. Heffernan (nee Taylor); devoted father of Shannon Taylor, Kelsey Catherine and Connor Owen Heffernan; loving son of the late Bill and Kay Heffernan and son-in-law of H. Lyle and Delores Taylor; dear brother of Kathleen Flynn (Vince), William Heffernan (Erin), Colleen Burke (Jeff) and brother-in-law of Karen Cleaves (Joany), Kay Raubenhold, Kim Caffrey, Chip Hockenberry (Heidi), Debra Boyer (John), Jeff Hockenberry (Diane); also survived by his fur children Bailey and Harley and also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends. Family and friends will honor Tom's life at the family owned Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Monkton, 16924 York Rd.(York & Monkton Rds. - Hereford), on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9PM. A funeral mass will be held Saturday 10AM at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Parkton. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions to EDN of MD. Tom, you were a big part of my life. You were caring, giving and full of love and hope. I was shocked to see this in the papers. You called me in January. I wish I would have responded sooner.
RIP. I will see you again one day.
You were a beautiful person inside and out.

to family and friends
i went to grade school with tom. i can tell you that he was liked by all and likewise he liked all the kids. he was a great guy with a great disposition, never down, a bit ornery which endeared him to his closest friends. i was sad to hear this news from a mutual buddy in baltimore. my sincerest condolences to his family.

I recently sent message. Don't know if it took. This is Senior citizen talking. However, Tom worked for me for many years. He was an outstanding co-worker who will be missed. We have been in Florida for the last two months (Snowbirds)am sorry I was not able to attend funeral. Our prayers go out to his family.

Sorry for your loss. Tom worked for me at Ferris, Baker Watts for many years. He was an outstanding co-worker who will be greatly missed. We have been in Florida for the past two months (Snowbirds) so I am sorry that I was not able to attend his funeral.
