William Dale Obituary

1950-2022

William Charles Dale-- husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend--passed from our world peacefully at home in Bradenton, Florida on October 21, 2022 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on August 1, 1950, he was the only son of Dr. William Glynn Dale and Margaret Ely Dale and brother to Kathleen Dale Mineo. Bill graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield and in 1972 received a degree in international affairs from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. In 1975 he married Theresa A. Corasaniti of Baltimore, a union that lasted 47 years until his death.

Bill worked in Washington, DC for the next 33 years until his retirement in 2005 as a legislative assistant to Springfield MA Congressman Edward Boland, as an investment analyst with G.A. Saxton and then as Assistant Chief Economist in the Office of Economic Analysis at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. He spent his first retirement years in Baltimore with his Corasaniti family and friends and then in 2016 moved with Theresa to be with his sister's family in Bradenton, Florida.

Bill is predeceased by his mother, father and sister. In addition to his wife Theresa, he leaves behind his brother-in-law Thomas J. Mineo of Bradenton, his mother-in-law Theresa M. Corasaniti of Baltimore and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews of the Dale/Mineo, Corasaniti/Cooper/McManus, and Ely/Troughton families.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 12 at 10 AM at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, 227 South Exeter Street, Baltimore 21202.

Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Tidewell Foundation at Sarasota/Bradenton. To read a complete obituary and stream Bill's Celebration of Life in Florida, go to www.brownandsonsfuneral.com

Just receiving this news so much later! Have such fond memories of Bill, my cousin, when we were kids. He was so smart, fun, and just a great person to spend time with. A real gentleman! I know how much he loved you, Terry! He was special to everyone who knew him!

I'll remember his giggles when we discussed the issues of the day and his advice on advocacy strategy. Bill will be missed by all who knew him.

Many happy memories with our Bill... He will be missed.

Bill was such a wonderful person. He will greatly missed in the VG-9 community. We always enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor. Sending our deepest sympathy to Terry and all his loved ones.

How I remember Bill:
Reading the papers in his favorite chair;
A wiz at Jeopardy;
Watching football games in Cleveland House;
An old, loyal friend of almost 50 years.

Run Silent, Run Deep.

Billy was a great friend who tried his best to teach me how to harness a wicked slice and a pitiful putting stroke to no avail. He was always patient with me when we played as partners against his brother-in-law, Lennie, and some other poor unfortunate acquaintance who showed up to join us on many a Sunday
morning often starting at sunrise. After we finished our match he would often console me by telling me "we´ll eventually win one of theses days (maybe)!" While Bill took his golf seriously he always had a kind word whenever I shanked a shot into the trees...that´s just the way he was.
Billy also inspired me to do my Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve on my way home from work. He assured me I would find the most intimate gift for my wife at either Walgreens or the local Rite Aid Pharmacy. In our later years we would often remind each other to stop and pick up something "special" for the little lady after playing a round of winter golf on Christmas Eve.
That was the Billy I knew and loved like a brother and I will miss him until we meet again on that lush fairway in the sky.
Peace and Godspeed, Billy

One of my fondest memories of Uncle Bill was each evening, as he was about to leave Grandma Corasaniti´s dinner, he would stand up from the table and say to everyone there "Say goodbye everybody" to which all in attendance would respond with "goodbye everybody" He would always chuckle at that and I looked forward to it each time. Rest In Peace Unc

Bill was a dear man who was nothing short of a force of nature. There is nary a positive attribute that one could not apply to Bill-he was witty, charming, caring, loyal, and easily one of the most interesting, intelligent people on the planet. To say he will be missed is to understate his importance in the lives of his friends, his family, and especially to his adoring wife. Terry, be strong during these difficult days; know that this amazing man chose you to be his life partner; keep him in your heart.
