William Plummer Obituary

William David Plummer passed away peacefully on 9 March 2025. He was 69 years old. Billy was the son of the late Carl "Pete" and

Mary Lee Oliver Plummer. He is survived by his son David Plummer. He is also survived by his sister Janet Dettwiler and husband Bill, his niece Penny Dettwiler Bowman and husband Donny and his nephew William Dettwiler and wife Kristina as well as great nieces and nephews. Billy grew up in Churchville and graduated from Bel Air High School in the Class of 1973. He loved sports, especially baseball. He played parks and rec baseball, then managed teams, and then played in men's softball leagues. Billy was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Aberdeen Iron birds as well as the Baltimore Ravens. Prior to being in a debilitating car accident, he owned and operated a successful roofing and siding company. He would say, walking on rooftops is just like walking on the ground. Donations in his memory should be made to the American Diabetes Association.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Evans Life Celebration Home-Forest Hill, Maryland. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.evansfuneralchapel.com

For Billy,

Sometimes I find myself find longing for the days of endless corn fields, and a summer in the woods forging streams and building forts. Attending the big Birthday Party. A hit and a fly ball on the run. The autumn hunt without a shot. These are the memories of I have of Billy and the time we spent together when we were growing up.

We were all part of a load of cousins who were more like sisters and brothers.
The makings for two ball teams and the timeless memories we all have of the gatherings at Pop and Granny's.

For that we are truly Blessed.
In Remembrance of Billy.

Mike
