Wilson Baysinger Obituary

">BAYSINGER, Wilson DeMont "Bill" ">WILSON "BILL" DeMONT BAYSINGER, December 13, 1936- July 8, 2006. WILSON BAYSINGER lost his phenomenal fight against cancer on Saturday, July 08, 2006. He died peacefully at his Palm City, FL home with his wife Mary and their dog Biscayne by his side. He was born in Syracuse NY and after living and being schooled in Schenectady, Auburn and Philadelphia, he moved with his family to Zanesville, Ohio and finished high school there. Wilson graduated from Ohio Weslayen University in 1958, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He soon began a sales career with Republic Steel Corporation, later sold for Alan Wood Steel before joining Feralloy Steel Corporation in 1971. After serving as Sales Manager for their Eastern Division, he took retirement in 1991 from his General Manager position in Cleveland, Ohio to pursue his true love of the "water". The Baysingers were avid sailors and successfully campaigned several sailboats in the Annapolis and Middle River area of the Chesapeake Bay. Captain Bill (he qualified for his USCG 100 ton captains license) also ran a sailing school for Tradewinds Marina .In 1991, they moved to Palm City, FL where Bill ran Baysinger Marine and chartered Encore, a 44 foot CSY pilothouse ketch from New England through the Bahamas. Until recently, he was CFO of Baysinger Search & Assoc., Inc, their national medical recruitment firm. In addition to Mary, Wilson is survived by three daughters, Beth Hagerty of Aspen, Co, Barb Baysinger of Homer, AK and Meredith Watkins of Philadelphia, Pa. Two granddaughters, Taylor vanZyl of Aspen and Grace Watkins of Philly. And his sister, Barbara Coates, of Borrego Springs, Ca. In accordance with his wishes, his ashes will be scattered at sea at a future family reunion. Donations may be made in his honor to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S E Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997.
