Alma Wise Obituary
Athens
Alma Jean (Erskine) Wise, 78, of Athens passed away peacefully Sunday, June 14, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in 1937, the daughter of Paul and Alma (Jenkins) Erskine in Battle Creek.
Jean graduated from Athens High School in 1955 and married her high school sweetheart, Stanley M. Wise, on October 7, 1955. He survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by their children, Jackie (Mark) Bailey of Fulton, Doug (Debbie) Wise of Athens, Julie (Howard) Swabash of Schoolcraft, Brad (Angie) Wise of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Gary Erskine of Battle Creek; sisters, Sally Wise of Battle Creek and Nancy Miner of Harrison. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Betty Lou.
Jean enjoyed baking, and spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of Wakeshma Community Church and taught Sunday school for many years. Jean will be missed as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family and friends will remember her sweetness, her life of faith, and love of her Lord.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Shaw Funeral Home. Services will take place 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Wakeshma Community Church with Pastor David Mackaluso officiating. Interment, North Athens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Wakeshma Community Church.
The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Battle Creek.

I'm so sorry to hear that Alma Jean has passed. She's in the hands of our Lord and at peace. I remember what a sweet person she was as a young girl.
