Ernestine "Teen" Masick

Ernestine 'Teen' Masick Traverse City Ernestine 'Teen' Masick, 96, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully Monday, December 26, 2011 at Boardman Lake Glens. Teen was born on October 11, 1915 to the late Ernest Bosma and Ethel May (Taylor) Hawley in Battle Creek. In the early 40's Teen met her "greatest Christmas gift" Otto Egon Masick and the two married on February 10, 1945. They spent most of their married life in Battle Creek and retired to Traverse City in 1992. They were both active and charter members of West Lake Presbyterian Church and later they were members of The Presbyterian Church in Traverse City. Teen enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, and needle point. She will be fondly remembered for her Bunny Cake's and pillow cookies. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. Teen is survived by her children, daughter Carolyn (Dale) Wright, and son, Phillip (Diane) Masick; grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Laramore, Megan (Grant) Blackmer, Andie (Matt) Beaver, Jessica (Fiancé Drew Van Vliet) Masick; and great-grandchildren, Kyle, Shelby and Colin Laramore and Ellie Grace Beaver. Teen was preceded in death by her husband Otto Masick on December 29, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday December, 28, 2011 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City with a visitation held one hour prior. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Munson Hospice. Burial will take place at 3pm on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Battle Creek.
