Jane (and family),
My thoughts are with you today (5/30/2009) as you honor your dad. He was truly a great and amazing man. Your family opened their home to me on occasion for a few holidays when I would not have had anywhere else to go and your dad not only made me feel welcomed but I felt that he made a point of including me in a bit of his prayer before dinner. A small remembrance but perhaps an example of his ability to empathize and reach out. I'm with you in thought and spirit today.

Jack was one of a kind, an icon in the Kellogg world and a man to whom many owe much. He was my boss, my friend and my mentor. He served his country with honor and suffered much as a result. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends all of whom will miss him greatly.

I grew up hearing stories about Mr. Curtis from my Dad, Harold Leenhouts. He was part of the team that made Kelloggs a great company. He will be missed by everyone who he has helped in his life time and those who had the privilege to know him.

Randy, Jane and Vicki,

I have very fond memories of your father. What a wonderful man. In reading about his life you all should be very proud of his accomplishments in the community but really those are not as important as his being a great father to you all.
I know this is a tough part of our lives to say goodbye to our parents. Jack lived a full life and up until his later years was very active in many activities for the Battle Creek community.
Nadine and I will be thinking about you during this time.

Jack was a good leader and committee member. I enjoyed hearing his many stories about fishing. You will be missed in the community and on the many Kellogg committees you belonged to. It has been a pleasure to know you and to learn from you. My thoughts are with your family.

My father & mother, Fred & Obelia Katz, were very good friends with Jack. I have the fondest memories of Jack coming out to my parents lake house to spend time getting some R & R with them. He was a great man witnessed by all the things he was involved in written in his obituary. He also was instrumental in my initial hiring @ the Kellogg Company back in 1978. He will truly be missed.

Jack's contributions to Battle Creek were so many. I am most thankful for his work with the Food Bank of South Central Michigan on behalf hungry families. We are also indebted to Jack for his military service to our country. As a fellow Albion College graduate, I am proud and thankful for all that Jack accomplished. My condolences go to Jack's family.
