Ruth Jean Jordon, age 83, of Battle Creek, passed away January 1, 2016. Ruth was born March 9, 1932 in Mitchell, SD the daughter of John and Eunice (Kornegay) Hickman. Her husband Bruce E. Jordon, Sr. preceded her in death on July 14, 2001.

Ruth was Past Worthy Matron and Life Member of the Battle Creek Order of the Eastern Star. She also attended the Battle Creek Evangelical Friends Church. Ruth loved reading and crocheting.

Ruth is survived by her children: Patricia Kelly of Prattville, AL, Bruce (Teresa) Jordon of Battle Creek, and Margaret (Dan) Jones of Battle Creek; her step-children: Linda (Bob) Deevers of Battle Creek, and Beulah Songer of Pikeville, TN; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and her sister Almita (Tom) LaBarr of Battle Creek. Besides her husband Bruce, Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter: Mallorie Gareis; and 3 brothers and sisters.

At Ruth's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 4:00 PM at the Battle Creek Evangelical Friends Church. Private burial will be held at a later date at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta.

Memorial donations in Ruth's name may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements by the Royal Funeral Home, Battle Creek. www.facebook.com/RoyalFuneralHome
