I knew Steve from WMU and will never forget him. He was a good friend and soul to be around. We rode the campus bus and visited the Air zoo together. College life was easier with his friendly face! I will always miss you Steve and wish my family could enjoy your lovely company. Until we meet again...

Stephen was a wonderful person who saw something interesting and worthwhile in everyone and everything. He loved his friends better than anyone else I know. I will miss him terribly.

Steve was a bright young Naval Officer who was bold, energetic and enthusiastic. As his Captain on USS MUSTIN, he was a joy to watch and work with. He epitomized our ship's namesake and motto, "Toujours L'audace". His example and spirit will live on in the fighting spirit of the men and women of USS MUSTIN. Rest in peace shipmate. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his Father, Sister and family. Sincerely, CDR Mike Misiewicz, USN, Commanding Officer, USS MUSTIN (DDG 89)
