Anthony Thannisch Obituary

Anthony J. Thannisch, 70

Services for Anthony J. Thannisch of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be held at a later date.

Anthony passed to heaven August 6, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 70. He was born May 27, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph and Sylvia Acrey Thannisch. He was raised on the farm in Rush Springs, Oklahoma and graduated high school in 1961. He married Mary Little in 1963. Anthony was a U.S. Air Force medic during the Vietnam War. Anthony received a Chemistry Degree in 1966, from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma, then graduated from Southern College of Optometry, Class of 1978 in Memphis, Tennessee and worked as an optometrist. He enjoyed making pottery and stained glass, woodworking, gardening, reading, poetry, art and music. He played the guitar and painted with water colors. He was a renaissance man. Anthony lived in Mountain Home since March of 2013, moving from Kingston, Oklahoma.

Anthony is survived by his two sons, Chris Thannisch of Mountain Home, AR and Tim (Bunnie) Thannisch of Durant, OK; grandchild, Khrystina (Cole) Rodriquez of Durant, OK; great-grandchildren, Kloe and Caden; sister, Cynthia Young of Covington, LA; half brother, Michael Thannisch of LaPort, TX; step father, Richard Larsen of Mandeville, LA; uncle, Ralston Acery of Rush Springs, OK and aunt, Letty Wallace of Rush Springs, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and son, Jessie.

Memorials may be made to Hodgkin's Lymphoma Society of America or Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
