Cecile Floyd "Junior" Talburt Jr.

1938 - 2024

Cecil "Junior" Floyd Talburt, Jr., 86, of Henderson, Arkansas, passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at Salem, Arkansas.

Junior was born April 17, 1938, in Cumi, Arkansas, to Cecil Floyd Sr. and Carrie Maud (Shrable) Talburt.

Junior was united in marriage to Frances Kyner on Aug. 9, 1957, in Wheeling, Arkansas. Junior and Frances began their lives together as farmers. Junior operated the dairy farm for 39 years and continued a few years after with beef cattle.

Junior served as song leader and elder for the Cross Roads congregation until going to Viola Church of Christ where their son, Alan, is minister. Junior loved hunting and fishing with his sons, grandchildren and fishing buddies. He spent a lot of time on the lakes and rivers and kept fish in the freezer for fish fries. He enjoyed life at home until Parkinsons took its toll on his body and he had to go into the Southfork Nursing Home. He will be missed by his loving family, many relatives and friends.

Junior leaves to mourn his passing wife, Frances Talburt of Henderson, Arkansas; two sons, Alan Talburt and wife Debbie of Henderson, Arkansas, and Steve Talburt and wife Tina of Gamaliel, Arkansas; daughter, Anita Richardson and husband Doug of Labelle, Florida; seven grandchildren, Adam (Nicki) Talburt of West Plains, Missouri, Kasey (Matt) King of Thayer, Missouri, Jason (Valerie) Talburt of Roland, Arkansas, Erin (Jamie) Sisk of Searcy, Arkansas, Lucas Talburt of Roland, Arkansas, Sean (Amanda) Richardson of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and Caitlin Richardson of Boston, Massachusetts; 17 great grandchildren, Cole Talburt, Addison Talburt, Isaac Talburt, Elsie King, Morgan King, Miriam King, Anna King, Owen King, Vivian Talburt, John Talburt, Avery Sisk, Bodie Sisk, Kai Richardson, Kohl Richardson, Kayne Richardson, Kwin Richardson and Kora Richardson; nieces and nephew; Shelly (Mike) Peabody of Memphis, Tennessee, Kevin (Sandy) Sublett of Birmingham, Alabama, and Ginger Sublett of Blanchard, Oklahoma; many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Floyd Sr. and Carrie Talburt; sister and brother-in-law, Oneta and Leonard Sublett; nephew Dwight Sublett; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Reble and John Kyner.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wed. Dec. 18, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Talburt officiating.

Interment will be in the Custer Herron Cemetery in Henderson, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Adam Talburt, Jamie Sisk, Jason Talburt, Matt King, Sean Richardson and Lucas Talburt. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Sublett, Erin Sisk, Caitlin Richardson, Shelly Peabody, Kasey King and Bob Huett.

Memorials may be made to the Children's Home Inc. of Paragould, Arkansas.
