David Duckworth Obituary

David Wayne Duckworth of Flippin, Arkansas, passed away July 16, 2025, in Flippin, Arkansas, at the age of 71.

He was born Jan.19, 1954, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, the son of Donald Willard and Corene Laquetia "Granny" Smith Duckworth. He married Diane Luebbers on Oct. 21, 1986, in Las Vegas, Nevada. For many years, David worked as a store manager for Walmart which took them to many places across the U.S.

In 1990, the family relocated from Liberal, Kansas, to Fairview, Arkansas, where they owned and operated the Shady Oaks Resort. After moving to Flippin, Arkansas, David worked as a Realtor with Wood Realty for 35 years. He recently retired after dedicating 20 years to the Flippin School District as a bus driver. He was particularly proud of his time coaching the Flippin High School soccer team.

David enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, mule riding and a good barbecue. His greatest achievement in life was the family he and Diane created in their nearly 40 years together. He loved to spend time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

David is survived by his loving wife, Diane Duckworth of Flippin, Arkansas; mother, Corene Laquetia "Granny" Duckworth of Mountain Home, Arkansas; sisters Brenda (Ray) Bishop of Paragould, Arkansas, and Beth (Timothy ) Duckworth of Farmington, Missouri; children David "Waylon" (Sharon) Duckworth of Louisiana, Missouri, Chelsey Young of Avon Lake, Ohio, Korey (Kory Cogdill) Reynolds of Sebastopol, California, Derek "Wesley" (Danielle) Duckworth of Flippin, Arkansas, and Dustin Wayne (Ashley) Duckworth of Flippin, Arkansas; grandchildren Khloe, Kaiden, Avery, Alyvia, Dawson, Evalynn, Dallas, Dexter and Danielle with a great-grandchild on the way, Kalani, following Zyon and Javari.

He was preceded in death by his father.
