Thanks to all of you for your kind words and remembrances of dad. It was an encouragement to read your words again as I am thinking of dad a lot today. Next week is father's day and it's hard to imagine that I won't be calling him and teasing him about me being his favorite! I too am thankful for his love of Christ and sense of humor - both got our family through many difficult, and good, times.

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. I know you will watch over your children, family, and friends guiding them from heaven. Your memory lives on in your children and with all the people you have helped and have touched I am sure your kids know what a wonderful, caring, and lovng person you are!

I will miss seeing Don in Mountain Home. We had been Letter Carriers in Downers Grove, Illinois together for many Years, along with Gene Wright of Flippin, Arkansas, and Dennis Whitten, of Effingham, Illinois. I just saw two of our many Friends tonight 28 Dec 2011, from Downers Grove, Illinois, Dave Fergeson, and Bob Springstroh, at The Service for Don. Not only did I work with Don, he was my Mailman when I lived with my Parents. I think I just heard Don say, "Hey Jeff, Shut Up". Tonight, I saw how Blessed Don was with such a Wonderful Family, and my Prayers go out to you, with our Deepest Sympathy, Jeff and Sherry Thompson Gassville, Arkansas

I, with Jeff, and Dennis worked with Don in Downers Grove back in the 70's.
We know he is with the Lord Jesus and starting a new life for eternity.

With 15 siblings that means basically, 15 in-laws! Don was 'Mr. Sunshine' as he always put smiles on faces where ever he went. He now can, in spirit form, be pure sunlight. We all will miss him dearly, yet know his spirit even better now. Thanks for being in our family, and being you.
Hugs & love, Dennis & Elizabeth

Our hearts and prayers are with you as you mourn the loss on this earth of such a warm, godly man. His godly legacy is evidenced in his children who follow in his footsteps of his love for God and his wonderful sense of humor. We praise God for the hope that we have in reuniting with him in heaven.

Donna and Family. What a great Guy! I worked with Don @ Downers Grove Post Office. His wit and humor set him aside from everyone else. He was a great friend and cartoonist in our office. If you needed to "get in a good mood" all you would have to do was see Don and his smile; always a good word to everyone. He will be missed. Karen Lind, D.G. Post office

No one could make me laugh like Uncle Don. His sense of humor and love for life was a true blessing! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you say good-bye to your husband, dad, grandfather, friend. Don, I have no doubt that you will enjoy your time in heaven with all those who have gone before you. Please greet Dad for us and remind him not to cheat at cards!!

Our lives are a little less full without Uncle Don in them. A man filled with love, joy, and humor. He enriched all the lives he touched. The memories he left us will be treasured.

Don was a man's man who was loved by everyone who knew him. We had the privilege to know Don and Donna as our favorite couple for over 25 years. Don was rich in the Lord and you could see Christ's face through him. Oh how we will miss his voice, wonderful e-mails and friendship. Our hearts go out to Donna and the children. You have been in our prayers and will continue to be as you travel this journey in life. We send our love

What a wonderful friend. How I will miss those funny, encouraging emails after my surgery. After you greet your wonderful LORD, be sure to say hello to "Boob." Love you. My prayer will always be with Donna.

Dear Donna and Family:
Our comfort at this time is knowing that for Don to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Don was a dear friend nd beloved in the Lord. He is singing praise as never before!
His life truly counted for God and set a great example for fellow believers.
Donna, we love you and are praying for you. Also praying for the physical pain you are going through. Wish we could be with you at this time but we are in Florida with our son. But God hears and answers prayers from Florida.
We just sent a donation to Donald Shire Ministries in honor of Don. Didn't see any place to show it was a gift in remembrance of Don.
In the love of Christ,
Pastor and Linda Ross
