Harold Dean Haggerty

1934 - 2022

On Monday, July 18, 2022, Harold Dean Haggerty, loving husband and father of four daughters passed away at the age of 87 at his residence.

Harold was born on Aug. 24, 1934, in Hanover, Illinois to James and Mildred Haggerty. He graduated from Hanover High School in 1952 and joined the U.S. Army soon thereafter. He served for two years in Germany, from 1952 to 1954, as part of the Occupational Force following WWII.

On June 4, 1960, he married Doris Elaine Leighton. They raised four daughters. He worked at General Motors in Janesville, Wisconsin for 30-plus years. In addition to his passion for cars, he loved boating and spending time on the water. He was always up for a game of golf as well.

Harold was very pleased to have participated in an Honor Flight this past May with his daughter, Venus, as his guardian. He was very proud to have been awarded a Valor Quilt for his military service this past December.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, James; his mother, Mildred; his brothers, Wilson, Lloyd and Howard; his sister, Mildred and his first grandchild, Jacob.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; his four children, Venus (William) Woodruff of Wisconsin, Roxan (Kevin) Rhinelander of Wisconsin, Monica (William) Camas of Washington and Dena (Jeroen) Haggerty-Spaan of the Netherlands; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, Jason, Alex, Will, Zachary and Joshua as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Conner Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
